Friday Share and a Card!

Hey there friends!

For those of you who don't follow me on Facebook, I have decided to cancel Fave Friday. It gets hard picking blogs and I always feel like I have left someone out! So I decided to change it with "Friday Share" where I will share something completely random about me, life, or anything in general!

This week was the first day of fall. I have been living in my house now for 2 years. Fall is my favorite time of the year! I am not sure if it's because I know my birthday is near, or the thought that the holidays are just around the corner. I have always wished to live somewhere that the trees actually change colors (Miami does not exactly change with the seasons). So for the past 2 years on the first day of fall I hang a scarecrow on my front gate. It makes me feel like the season is here even though it may not seem like where I live. Last night I walked in Scarecrow in hand and my husband immediately knew the drill.

I think my love for the holidays comes from my parents! They always cook the BEST Thanksgiving Dinners I have ever tasted, and my dad always says the best prayer that night! Next is Halloween and my dad LOVES to dress up and scare all the little kids as they come to get candy. Me and my mom always have to be the nice ones and tell them he is just a regular guy! :o) And well then there is Christmas which is just AMAZING!!! My mom puts up a Macy's Christmas tree and a village that you would not believe unless you saw it in person. The outside is nothing less of a Christmas Theme park with so many lights I remember not being able to turn on the blow dryer when I lived there.

So that is my love for the holidays in a nutshell. I have included some photos below so you can see a little about what I am talking about. All the way at the bottom you will find today's card! In honor of my Front Gate Scarecrow.

Hope you enjoyed my Friday Share and my little card made using my Simply Charmed cartridge that I got in the mail today! XOXO

What a great post, I too share your love of this time of year and the holidays :) What fun to see your pictures and learn a little more about you, awesome! Ok now I am jealous of your Simply Charmed, I want that one, but I promised, no more cartridges till Thanksgiving :) I so wish you could have a little tast of Fall in Washington State, the trees are already changing, time for apple picking fast approaching and the pumpkin patch & corn maze are right around the corner ;) Love it! Love your story thanks for sharing. I live in Hawaii and the seasons don't change much here. On Christmas morning we are usually in shorts and shirts because it is much too hot. It does snow on the Mountain on the island that I am on, but it is too high for small children on be on. I would love to see seasons changing too. But I love living in Hawaii.
Great card!!!

I love autumn too :) We went for a walk today and the temps are turning cooler so a lot of the houses have fires or their woodstoves going. It smells wonderful!

Thanks for sharing the village pic - I sent your link to my daughter for inspiration - we started collecting pieces for her when she was 10 - she has a village to rival your moms now @ 17, but we never know how to put it all together to look good. Your moms layout is beautiful :)

such a cute card.. I think I know when the holidays are approaching when I walk into Michael's or Joann and I see all those fall and winter decorations :) I love fall colors!!! I'm jealous of those who get to see the four seasons of the year. Miami is simply SUMMMMMMER, humidity and a little winter :( I will be making a paper wreath to hang at my door.

I just loved reading your story! Sounds like you have two awesome parents. Momo, anytime you want 4 seasons, you just hop on a plane and come see me. You will get all four seasons in full effect! The leaves are already changing, and the mornings cooler and crisp. A low laying fog settles in and its a typical fall day in Oregon. Did I paint a good picture for you lol? I love your little scarecrow card, Are you loving this cartridge as much as I am?

I love your story! I live in Mississippi and the leaves are starting to turn colors and I am getting into the Fall mood lol!! I have to restrain myself from going ahead and buying a pumpkin to carve. Last year it wasted away before Halloween lol!! So I am trying to wait longer this year. Love the cute card too! I think simply charmed will be the next one I get. TFS!!!

What great memories - no hair dryer, LOL! My mom didn't do a village but the house alway looked like a dept store for christmas! She LOVED it and never held back when decorating! :)

Your card is simply ADORABLE - perfect for fall. Great job! :)

Oh, and I feel your pain - Phoenix, AZ doesn't change much either! LOL

Momo, your scarecrow card is super cute. Love it. I am looking at getting this cartridge. I do live in area where trees change. We don't always have much of a summer like this year, and don't typically get snow, mostly rain all fall, winter, and spring. Sounds like you have some great memories and traditions in your family for the fall holidays.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Momo. Here in Ontario, Canada the leaves are turning colours already and it's just so beautiful to see. It's funny because we sometimes complain and wish that summer never goes away. Our winters get really nasty and winter seems so long. Like you we love Thanksgiving. We celebrate Thanksgiving earlier than the U.S.A. Oct. 11. Halloween is the absolute best. We decorate the house inside and out, and always have partys. Being catholic and Italian Christmas is all about the 3 F's.....Family, Friends and Food.We love celebrating the holidays and I Thank you for sharing yours with us. The pictures are great, keep up the great projects for us your followers.

I'm from Miami but now I live in North TX (12 years!) and I do not miss the two seasons you get there. Autumn is my favorite season and ever since we moved here we decorate and visit the pumpkin patches and just enjoy the crisp cool air. I don't think I could ever go back.

I love your pictures! Thanks for sharing!
